On October 25, 2018 the 4th "Japan Get-Together" took place at the Lausward Power Plant of the Municipal Utilities company of Düsseldorf (Stadtwerke). This event offers representatives of Japanese companies and institutions in Düsseldorf the opportunity to get first-hand information in Japanese on topical issues of the City of Düsseldorf.
On the background of the climate protection goals of the City of Düsseldorf the Municipal Utilities presented their impressive contribution as an important partner fo the city for their realization. Keywords are efficient energy supply and use, including cooperation with trade, industry and service industry, climate friendly mobility and smart logistics as well as digital solutions to name just a few of them.
Particularly interesting in this respect is the so-called „Block Fortuna“ – the world’s most efficient gas-steam-turbine power plant. But other network solutions for power generation play an important role as well, such as cogeneration of heat and electricity, wind and solar power or block heating stations that provide electricity and district heat in a flexible way.
Significant stimulus to innovation is given in the field of smart mobility and electrification of vehicles and digitalization as well as hydrogen supply. Moreover, the cooperation with start-ups as innovation drivers is a big topic and actively promoted by their own coworking space "Denkfläche".
