Call for Postcards

Um diesen Meilenstein gebührend zu feiern, arbeitet die Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf mit Postcrossing zusammen, um eine internationale Postkartenausstellung auf die Beine zu stellen, die es der Welt ermöglicht, an den Feierlichkeiten teilzunehmen. Nichts beschreibt Beziehungen über Grenzen hinweg so gut wie Postkarten. Deshalb glauben wir, dass dies das perfekte Medium ist, um das Städtepartnerschaftsjubiläum auf die ganze Welt auszuweiten.

Und so können Sie ein Teil des Jubiläums werden: Wir laden Sie herzlich dazu ein Ihre Jubiläumswünsche und Gedanken zum Konzept von Partnerstädten per Postkarte an die folgende Adresse zu schicken:

An 100 Absender, die eine E-Mail-Adresse oder Postadresse inkludieren, senden wir eine von unseren vier exklusiven Jubiläumspostkarten als Antwort zurück. Und keine Sorge - alle persönlichen Informationen werden während der Internationalen Postkarten-Ausstellung natürlich verdeckt. Diese wird im rahmen des Jubiläumswochenendes am 30. juni 2018 eröffnet und im Café Europa, Marktplatz 6 a,  zu sehen sein. Schicken Sie Ihre also rechtzeitig ab, wenn Ihre Postkarte dabei sein soll.

This year Düsseldorf is celebrating the 30^th anniversary of town twinning with Haifa, Reading and Chemnitz. For the past 30 years lots of different projects and encounters have been organized. To celebrate this milestone, the city of Düsseldorf is partnering with Postcrossing to create an international postcard exhibition that will allow the world to join in on the celebrations. Nothing says “connections across borders” like postcards, so we believe this is the perfect medium to expand our jubilee to the entire world.

And this is where YOU come in! We kindly invite all postcrossers to take part on the postcard exhibition by sending in postcards with well-wishes and thoughts on sister cities. To participate, choose a postcard from your area and send it to:

And as a bonus, we will send 100 specially designed postcards to randomly chosen participants of the exhibition! For a chance to win one, just include your email address on the postcard you send. Don’t worry — your email addresses will be covered for the duration of the exhibition.
All postcards will be displayed at Café Europa, Markplatz 6a (next to Düsseldorf's Town Hall) from June 30th onwards, so you have until then to send in yours. And if you’re around, mark your calendar and send us photos! We’d love to see your beautiful postcards in all their shiny glory!
